Type CJE 16/-

The Above Ground copper Cable Joint is designed for use on the Highways Agency's motorway communication infrastructure.  The CJE16/F is intended for use on the NMCS ducted non-armoured 40 pair cable system, accommodating loading coils and build-out capacitors.  The CJE16 facilitates jointing, terminating, interconnection of local cables and test access. The enclosure is moulded out of impact resistant polycarbonate providing an environmental seal to IP65, and a clear lid for non intrusive inspection and easy installation into an HA cabinet Type 609.

Above Ground Copper Cable Joint

The transmission side joint is supplied with a mounting frame to fit directly into a 609 cabinet replacing the plywood panel.  The local side joint is fitted to the rear of the frame picking up the through connector system.

The Local side mirrors all the connection on the 40 pair longitudinal cable.  All circuits terminating on the local side may be isolated from the longitudinal side by means of break jacks.

All loading coil and build out capacitor boards are connector coded to inhibit incorrect installation.

To aid installation all connectors are marked with all their respective pair numbers and colour.
